Bangladesh: Left Organisations Hold Torchlight Rally in Solidarity with Jammu Kashmir

By Asian Marxist Review (AMR)

Left-wing youth, student, cultural, and trade union organisations in Bangladesh organised a torchlight rally in Dhaka to express solidarity with the people of Jammu Kashmir and protest the ongoing repression in the region.

Held under the slogan “Stop the massacre in Jammu Kashmir,” the demonstration brought together activists from a range of progressive organisations, who condemned the violence against civilians and called for an end to the crackdown.

Carrying torches and placards, participants expressed solidarity with the ongoing mass movement in Jammu Kashmir and urged the international community and democratic forces to raise their voices against the repression. The rally highlighted the growing concern among progressive movements in South Asia over the escalating humanitarian and political situation.

The protest in Dhaka adds to a series of international solidarity actions that have emerged in recent weeks, as left-wing organisations, trade unions, student groups, and social movements across different countries continue to express support for the people of Jammu Kashmir and their struggle for democratic and economic rights.

The torchlight procession reflected the increasing internationalisation of solidarity with the movement, demonstrating that the demands of the people of Jammu Kashmir continue to resonate beyond the region among progressive and working-class organisations.
